I love this picture. The words are from a poem by TS Eliot called “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.” I think it’s pretty apropos of my life right now. Worrying about one day at a time.
Sorry there’s no knitting or crafting in this post. I’m still working on those socks from last time (I’m up to the gussets; they’re very large). Things (my life, crafting, everything) should pick up soon and things will get back to normal. I’ll finish these damn socks and then knit another pair. So knitting is happening.
So… I was gonna talk about some socks I’m almost done with today, but the view from my balcony is this:
So instead I played in the snow. This is the first snow of the season, and as a gal from Virginia Beach (which despite the recent weather is on the water and usually DOES NOT get any snow at all), I have a sort of childlike wonder for the snow. Which is an eloquent way of saying I want it to snow four feet so I can make tunnels and forts.
I also took pictures. There was holly:
And this cute little snow-covered tree that I wanted to cover in tinsel and ornaments:
I’m celebrating the holidays with my boyfriend, who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, so I have no tree. Plus I won’t be in my apartment for Christmas anyway. But I’m definitely getting a little tree next year. : )
Stay warm, people.
As promised, here are some better photos of my Diamonds and Ruffles Cowl (don’t forget to enter the contest!)
In other knitting news, I am thiiiiis close to finishing my WWFY Liesl. I just have a couple of pattern repeats on the sleeves and it’ll be done. I’m sending it back unblocked so the recipient can block it to her measurements. I also received two orders on Etsy for shark mittens, so I’ll be knitting those up next. After those, on my radar is my Halloween cape (I’m going to be Little Red Riding Hood). I was going to dye some angora/merino/nylon I frogged from a sweater, but I’m having trouble getting the color I want because there’s a lot of nylon, so I went ahead and ordered some Valley Northampton from WEBS and might just use that instead. I’m sure I’ll find a use for the other yarn.
